Tires - What is the biggest I can go and where do I get them.

I don't think there is a better looking
wheel than the stock IROC-Z wheels. I have an '86 and I have stripped
sanded & polished the wheels to a mirror finish & they look great.
I use a set of aftermarket wheels to autocross the car (17"× 9.5"
with 5.5" back spacing front and rear). They fit perfect but just
don't look as good as the IROC-Z wheels. I use the
very popular tire size of 275/40-17. I have been trying to get the company
you refer to in this email to produce those wheels in wider widths as well as
diameter. One of the most common performance tire sizes today is the 275/40-17.
This tire size is recommended for 9.5"-10" wide wheels. It is
difficult to find performance tires for a 17 × 8 or 18 × 8 wheel. If
more IROC-Z owners asked for the 17 × 9.5 wheel they may produce it.
After all, us Camaro guys need a good looking production type performance wheel
to compete with the 17 × 9.5 Cobra R wheel the Mustang guys are using. The name
of the Company is "Performance Wheel Outlet Inc.", "Your OEM
Specialists". They currently produce the IROC-Z wheel in 16" ×
8", 17" × 8" and 18" × 8", in polished aluminum or
chrome finish. Their phone number is (909) 825-5242 Fax (909) 825-5582
